Andrew Murray as a runner, and as a doctor volunteering for the Olympics is an inspiration. Recently, he ran 2659 miles in 78 days from John O Groats to the Sahara desert, and raised over £75000 in the process for the Yamaa Trust, who he volunteers with. He ran more than 34 miles each day, with no days off. This was made into a BBC2 Scotland 1 Hour documentary- 'The Ultimate Marathon Man.' Through this, and his work as a GP and sports doctor, Andrew has sought to publicise the benefits of exercise, and has had support from Steve Redgrave, Alex Salmond, and Mark Beaumont in doing this. More than 1000 people joined him for part of his run. He is passionate about the Olympics, and is proud to be volunteering as a part of the medical team.
