Andy McPherson has served in HM Forces for 33 years and over the last three years has devoted countless hours to raising money for Families' Activity Breaks which is a charitable initiative between the Armed Forces and the Youth Hostel Association. The charity provides an activity based holiday for children who have lost a parent whilst in the forces. Andy has completed two bike rides totalling over 800 miles and has organised charity boxing events which have raised in the region of twenty thousand pounds. He has also given his time as a volunteer to support two families each year who have attended the activity break holiday.
He truly is a person who deserves to carry the Olympic Flame and it would be wonderful if this nomination were successful.
