Andrew's nomination story

Andrew Marston provided £7500 funding over 3 years, and promise of continuity funding, enabling a local community radio station to exist. He is vice-Chairman of Penryn Community Development Trust which organised funding for a local children`s nursery to move to purpose-built premises and become professionally managed. Andrew has helped organise funding for a local youth Saturday club to be established, benefitting local children. Andrew has contributed £1,000pa for the last 5 years to `Habitat for Humanity` providing housing for disaster-zones using local labour. The Christmas Fair at Jubilee Wharf, in Penryn, organised by Andrew and his wife Alice raises money for different charities each year, including the Samaritans, Potters for Peace and the local children's pool. He provides £500pa to BF Adventure who provide adventure training for young people. Invests in local businesses, which provide employment in Penryn, one of the ten most deprived wards in Cornwall, and hence UK
