Andy Marriott

Andy has been nominated for supportin g the Sheffield Community in raising funds for the Children's Hospital Charity. Introduced to the organisation in December 2008 when his son George was disabled with a brain tumour at the age of 10. Andy has participated in numerous initiatives including 10km runs, auctions and even a 'mini olympics'. He plays an active part in supporting other families whose children have similar illnesses. Andy takes inspiration from hi son George who continues to have treatment and has undergone 7 major operations. George himself completed a radio appeal that succeeded in raising £500K for a new CT scanner. Andy having the opportunity to be a torchbearer would give the Marriott family something to look forward to in 2012 and would give a tremendous boost to his pride.
