Andy is a Platinum Young Ambassador for Vale Royal School Sport Partnership - he has been an Ambassador for 3 years in all, leading and inspiring 1000s of students by 'living the values'. As well as leading the Ambassador group for our SSP Andy is a regular volunteer at 2 sports clubs, focussing on supporting and developing new participants in Cricket and Golf. Having achieved his Step into Sport Gold Award for 200hrs Community Volunteering he is pushing hard to receive the same for school based leadership. Andy and a fellow PYA developed the idea for Inspire Project 'Active Arcade', working with PE teachers and partnership staff to create a way of engaging young people nit currently attracted the the School Sport offer in their school. The concept of using electronic fitness equipment and games based on Olympic and Paralympic Sports to inspire participation then required funding. Working with the Partnership Development Manager he successfully applied for over £30,000 in grant funding and sponsorship which helped create 9 'Active Arcade's' in different schools and colleges. Following the successful launch Andy presented the programme to Paul Deighton as part of a Cheshire presentation of Inspire projects. Andy reguarly organises festivals at school and wherever possible inspires participants by speaking about the values - most recently he opened our athletics competition and NSSW celebrations by speaking to 600 participants and spectators and 'striving for excellence'.
