Andrew's nomination story

I believe that I deserve to be a Torch Bearer in the London 2012 Olympic Torch relay, as I was a forerunner in the promotion, development and implementation of NSSW across the local authority.  Through working in conjunction with Headteachers, Heads of Department and Primary School Subject Leaders, I ensured that all Primary and Secondary Schools in Caerphilly were involved in NSSW.  Once registered, I worked closely with School Sport officers and School staff to ensure that there was a diverse programme of activities both in and outside of school, as well as competitions and festivals right throughout NSSW.  I organised the Caerphilly Olympics, which incorporated more than 400 pupils from 29 different Primary Schools and 16 different Olympic Sports.  This event alone generated so much interest from schools, parents and pupils alike, all of which have requested a similar opportunity for 2012. I feel that none of the above would have happened without my passion and determination for NSSW and the Olympic Games, and I believe that it is for this reason that I deserve to be a Torch Bearer in the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay.
