Andrew French

An employee of GSK for 32 years, Andy has been involved in many site community events: Children's Christmas Outings, Site community day and School ambassador events (involving circa 600 schoolchildren/yr). A cub leader for 18 years (2 evenings p/w and 1 weekend/month)organising events for his pack and district with 250+ cubs and integrates the cubs into community projects where possible:(Rye Meads Nature Reserve, litter picks, Ware Carnival) He regularly runs races (5km to marathon-London 7 times to date) running for VICTA (visually impaired children). He organises social events and weekends for the running club and organised the Ware 10 race. He was a Lifeguard Coxswain patrolling the Thames and a children's swimming coach. Andy was musical director for Ware Brass learners, for children and has also assisted at Mount Vernam hospital for mentally handicapped children. He really deserves this honour.
