Andy Ferris

Andy has volunteered as Sport Director for Surf Life Saving Great Britain - the charity for volunteer lifeguards - for 4 years. In order to develop & grow the sport, Andy organised regional & national competitions as well as youth & leadership camps, has put in place a full coaching and ocean safety and skills programme, & even coaches at club, county & national level. Before this he was Sport Representative for the Cornwall Region. Andy does all this in his own time, alongside his full-time job as a police officer. I think Andy should carry the Olympic torch because of the opportunities he has given young people in Cornwall and the UK.
