Andy Buckley

Andy is 27 and is a level 4 Coach in Kayaking. He has been a paddler for many years, since he was a young boy. He is very enthusiastic and passionate about his sport and thinks of others and encourages them to have a go and to do their best. Over the past few years Andy has dealt with cancer.. His illness has forced him to leave his career choice, in the Air force and has returned to Aberystwyth. He gives his spare time as a Coach to a club called Aberkayakers and also training to be a Reserve Officer in Aberystwyth Sea Cadets. He has helped with training walks and George walking and loves anything to do with getting wet. He has received counselling for his cancer ordeal but his bubbly personality is to encourage laughter and fun to the group and the youngsters soon forget their worries. Additional fact:- Since nominated Andy has become a sub-lieutenant at the Sea-Cadets.
