Andrew's nomination story

Andrew Bell has been a pivotal member of Truro Rowing Club since he was a teenager. He's worked tirelessly to get the Cornish pilot gig rowing club in the top ten in the world. He's coxed the ladies A crew helping them to come 7th in the world championships in 2010. He's also a dedicated member of the men's A crew. But what sets Andrew apart is his work with the juniors. Because of his dedication and training, Truro River Rowing Club has a thriving junior section who year of year get superb results in the junior championships. As well as his incredible dedication on the water he also spends hours off the water looking after the gig and fundraising for the club.

Andrew constantly has a positive attitude, encouraging new rowers and developing experienced ones.

He is an excellent example of someone who dedicates most of his time to a voluntary sport and it is people like him who have ensured Cornish Pilot Gig Rowing is now a thriving sport in Cornwall.
