I wish to nominate my God-daughter Amy Potter to be a Torch Bearer. Amy is a truly inspirational 17 year old girl, who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of 8, since then she has been admitted to hospital on many occasions to receive IV antibiotics. Despite missing some school due to her illness, Amy has achieved excellent GCSE results and is now studying for her A-levels. Amy enjoys taking part in many sports and has achieved a high standard, playing hockey for her County. As an active fund raiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, she helps organise many events including an annual sponsored walk around the village where she lives, with many people from the local community taking part. Amy is a lovely, bright girl and always has a smile on her face. She is an inspiration to everyone who knows her and would be perfect as a Torch Bearer as it passes through Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria.
