I am nominating my truely inspirational daughter Amie. Amie started struggling with Asthma when she was five. She had shown an interest in sports and attended dance classes. When she got older, her Asthma was found to be induced by sport/exercise. But Amie would push through these boundarys and loved ALL sports. She became an established Dancer (Ballet/Tap/ModernJazz/Contmporary). She excelled at Hockey; she joined a Lads Football Team at nine; still plays today for a Ladies U18 Team and still attends her Dance Classes. She joined an Athletics Club - Long Jump. She did Karate -Brown Belt with Two Tabs. Nothing stopped her. But at 15 she became ill again; A massive gallstone and a major operation in between mock/real GCSE Exams. She still acheived top results in her school with 16 GCSE's, 14 being A and A*. She wanted to give something back. Volunteering twice a week in a hospital in the MAU (100 mile round trip). Twice a week at her old High School yes, The Sports Department. Amie became ill in hospital again in January 2011for 11 days. We still have no diagnosis. Amie continues all her activities and Voluntary work, despite the pain . A ray of sunshine, always smiling and willing to help with and with an endless book of achievements I could champion her forever, She truely deserves this honour for her love of Sport and for being a wonderful, intelligent, well rounded, polite young woman who is not only loved by her family but by everyone she meets.Sue (Amie's Mum)
