Sandeep has sadly passed away since nomination, therefore his wife Selina is running in his memory. Sandeep's nominaton story: I am nominating Sandeep because he is an inspiration to all. His mentality, strength and love for people and life touches everyone he meets. Over two years ago, at the age of 29, Sandeep was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma. He received chemotherapy and surgery for over 1 year. Following this treatment, through his strong determination and desire for life, he went back to work to continue his ambition of helping others, as a surgeon. Unfortunately, several months later, the cancer had returned. He married his long term girlfriend, whilst restarting his chemotherapy treatment. Unfortunately last month, Sandeep was told that his body was losing the battle and the cancer had continued to spread. The outlook for the future is poor. However, despite everything he is going through, Sandeep always manages to put others first and greet everyone with a smile. During his treatment, he even volunteered to work in a local charity shop and was involved in teaching at the local education centre. This really defines his beautiful personality and character. Sandeep has many tough times ahead, yet his smile is still glowing and his ethos for life "never give up" has not changed. He is a fighter and his battle goes on. He is an inspiration for me and for all. This is why I believe he deserves to be a torchbearer.
