Alvin has been a great friend of my parents for many years and is an inspiration to me. He is a cancer survivor and plays a great part in his local community. He is the President of Holywood Rugby football and Cricket Club and a committee member of Wandsworth Community Centre. Through these he organises many activities for the youth and elderly of East Belfast. He is a big influence in the social aspect of the Rugby Club and always ensures everyones needs are catered for. I think everyone who knows Alvin would agree he more than deserves this chance. He is enthusiastic and a friend to everyone, always doing what he can to help. The opportunity to carry the torch is something he has talked about and I feel he would be a perfect candidate. I know he will be honoured to have been nominated and I would like to use this nomination to thank him for all his hard work.
