Alured Darlington

Alured is 76 years of age, hale and hearty practicing as a criminal defence solicitor. A compassionate and committed Christian, he has worked continuously to correct injustices in the legal system. He joined Erin Pizzy in her fight to protect battered wives by having the law changed so abusive husbands could be evicted. He received the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year award in 2007. He initiated the change of law in 'mens rea',so the state of mind dyring a criminal act must be considered at trial.He addressed the Sentencing Advisory Panel on the flawed practice of giving equal punative sentences to drug dealers and their duped mules.
