Allan's nomination story

Allan was introduced to fencing when his son took the sport up about 20 years ago. At the time he became a 'fencing dad', transporting a variety of young Welsh fencers around the country to age group tournaments. He joined the Welsh Fencing Executive because of his involvement with Welsh youth fencing and then became involved with the organisation of the Welsh Open, the major Welsh competition.. Together with a group of volunteers, he has enhanced the Welsh Opens' reputation as well run, quality fencing tournament and maintained its position as one of the premier tournaments in the BG fencing calendar. He is now Vice-Chairperson of Welsh Fencing, and continues to support and develop fencing in Wales.
