Alison's nomination story

Alison volunteers with Air Cadets, 5 nights a week, during the day in the week and weekends. She does this all to give youngesters the oppertunity to develop themselves and encourages them to have confidence in themselves, spends a lot of time developing them. She puts everything into Air Cadets and now helps the CCF. Although she does more than most air cadet staff members, she is even more inspirational because she is disabled (although she would never admit it) In 2006 she had a car crash which left her walking with a stick but it hasn't stopped her doing anything. The stories she's tells, the photos of proof inspires all of the cadets to do better. She never mentions the stick - it comes part and parcel of her. I've never known anyone to put so much time, effort and heart into improving other peoples life.If an event can not go ahead because there is not enough staff members she will always step into the breech. When I see her taking a parade, with a look of pride in her face at the cadets and how much they have come on I always think where is her thanks. She is sometimes underapreciated because she does a lot of the background work that needs doing. I think by letting her have her moment to shine would be a great thank you to the thousands of cadets she has helped in the last 13/14 years. It would be our moment of Thank You and please don't ever stop! A lot of young adults wouldn't be where they are now without her help, encouragment and enthusiam.5 nights a week should read often up to
