Ali's nomination story

My Father is my idol. During my childhood he suffered a great loss of my Grandfather, which made him turn to alcohol. But four years ago, when he heard that the Olympics was to be here in London he turned his life around. He has stopped drinking and started exercising. He is known running Marathons and coaches a small group of children/teenagers how to get healthy. He also sponsors and helps coach local sportspeople in my area. My Father is well known in my local County, Middlesex, for being the local Greengrocer. He has inspired everybody he meets to turn life around. Therefore I would like to give something back to him for once. People always come to my Father for advice, but not once has he ever asked anyone else for their help. He taught me that nothing was impossible. I was severely overweight and was bullied alot, and with his help I became healthy. He gave me confidence, which led to me to making friends. He is not only my father, but also my best friend. I run marathons with friends not organised marathons. I used to sponsor a Rugby team and a young teenage boxer.
