Alexandru Dumitru

Dan,aged 34, inspired members of our Romanian community, special children, through sport and charity work. He enters half marathons and shorter distances for the last 4 years. He has completed Great North Run, Nottingham Half Marathon and other 6 races raising money for different people with disabilities but special children. He booked a place for Edinburgh Marathon next year. He raises money for 350 children in a Romanian orphanage called Pro-Vita. He was involved in a local campaign Help our Heroes . He intends to keep going ad infinitum for the love of running, a good cause and inspiration for other people. He is full of live and he loves people around him. He deserved to bear the torch because is not only the Olympic Torch but our community torch in which we believe.
