Having the opportunity to take part in the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay is such a privilege and is a once in a lifetime opportunity, especially running in my home town of Birmingham. Growing up I was an active sports fan, whether throwing the discus or javelin at school, playing hockey or cricket for both my school team and the local club, or just as a fan supporting from the sidelines. These experiences instilled within me a passion to strive for success, both for myself and for others. Since leaving school this passion has remained, whether through charitable fundraising, undertaking sporting challenges or motivating people to achieve their best. The London 2012 Olympic Games represents an amazing investment in UK sport and a unique opportunity to help inspire and encourage the next generation of Britain's children to be the best that they can be, both inside and outside of the sporting arena.
