Sandy's nomination story

Sandy Keith has been involved in field hockey at both local and national levels for the past three decades as a player & coach and is a well known figure in Scottish Hockey. He has been the driving force behind Granite City Wanderers Hockey Club - one of the largest mixed hockey clubs in Aberdeen. He was also head coach of Robert Gordon University Ladies Hockey Club From 1999-2003. Sandy's coaching achievements include being named Aberdeen Sports Council Coach of the Year 2003 and Scottish Hockey Coach of the Year 2010.

Sandy has been responsible for ensuring our club actively encourages children, from areas where opportunities to play field hockey does not exist, to be involved in the sport. He epitomises the Olympic spirit by sleflessly devoting all of his free time, without seeking personal reward, encouraging people at all levels of ability to be the best they can be and would be a worthy carrier of the Olympic Torch in Aberdeen. He deserves a monent to shine under the Olympic flame. CR
