Alex's nomination story

Alex (16) is an inspiration despite being confined to a wheelchair due to Duchenes Muscular Dystrophy. He lives life to the full despite itMy passion is to show people (both able-bodied & disabled) that just because someone is in a wheelchair it doesn't stop them from living a fulfilled life. I have just left mainstream school and will be attending college from September. Whilst at school I was a science mentor to the younger students as well as mentoring other disabled children in the school. I'm involved in the local special needs sports group based in Worcester and hope to continue there as a helper from September. I am fortunate enough to be able to use the Acorns Children's Hospice for respite and have recently accepted the invitation to become an Acorns Ambassador which excites me greatly.
