Alex Griffiths has been a Gateway to the Games Volunteer for four years and serves the community and Council through volunteering at numerous local events and sports competitions and supporting the work of the Olympic Ambition Team. He has volunteered in our office twice a week for two years ans continues to do so. Alex not only volunteers himself but also helps run the volunteer programme and is passionate about delivering a high quality service on behalf of his fellow volunteers. His hard working nature and dedication meant he was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2007. Alex also supports Dial, a local advice centre and Ab Phab Youth Club, a sport and activity club for abled bodied and disabled children. Alex has restricted mobility but he is an inspiration to everyone he works with young and old, as he never lets his disability stand in the way of putting others first through his voluntary work. He is a real asset to our team and a great ambassador for the Council and London 2012.
