Alan's nomination story

Alan has been a wheelchair user since 1997 when his legs were amputated above the knee due to MRSA. Despite those setbacks nothing stopped him in pursuing his goals and participating in sports which has opened many doors for him. Over the Years he has completed in many races European Paratriathlon Championships Ttriathlons, Duathlon, marathons winning various medals the list of races are on-going. As well as competing and training in sports he is an Ambassador for Triathlon England Disabled athletes, plays a key role in encouraging and creating opportunities for disabled people to compete in triathlon and an ambassador for various charities. He attends various events as a guest speaker sharing his journey and also gives motivational talks including attending York University. Alan writes articles for different magazines. He is a true inspiration, role model for this country and always goes that extra mile to help others.
