Aileen Reilly

I first joined Nature Valley in 1980 so I suppose you could say I have always carried the torch for this company.Since 1995 I have led the company's community relations and charity team and always keen to participate along with fellow employees and their families - beach cleans ; litter picking in town ; charity days in our staff canteen ; painting out graffitti clad walls ; helping a youth project set up a cafe during the summer holidays ; building a bird hide for a wildlife centre; working with a special needs school on a business/enterprise project where I bring them in to our plant to experience real life work are some examples.Being part of a team that gives not only time but works to raise funds for worthy causes is inspiring - together we have given over £400k to our local community. I recently suffered a stroke - I am lucky - I recovered - and recently completed the 26.2mile Moonwalk in London in 6 hours - something I didnt think I would achieve a year ago and raised £2000. I want to encourage others who have suffered ill health that anything is achievable. I would love to represent the Company - it would be a great honour .
