Aiden Collins

Aiden is my 13 year old son and I am very proud of him. His nephew Ethan (my grandson) was born on16/12/97 with serious health problems. He needed a life-saving double transplant operation so Aiden set up a Facebook group (without any one knowing & was aged 10 at the time!) to encourage people to sign the organ donor register...at its peak there was 60,000 members...even now 2 years after Ethan has died the group still has 50,000 members! http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=32541679310&ref=ts Aiden has himself signed the organ donor register & encouraged thousands of others to do so! He contacted many newspapers to get Ethan's story told...he was 11 years old! Since Ethan's death on 01/05/09, Aiden has, along with family members, worked tirelessly to raise funds for an organ donation charity Live Life Then Give Life...he has abseiled down a 100ft lighthouse and took part in the BUPA junior Manchester run and he is still only 13! His school also chose Aiden's charity work for their fundraising activities! I am nominating Aiden because I want the world to know how proud, not just I am of him, but all our family & friends...I'm so proud I could burst!
