To continue the, sometimes unequal but nevertheless pleasurable, struggle to keep our small village cricket club in existence. We are the only sports club left in Bugle and I take great pride in the way in which we provide a high standard of cricket with a small squad comprising all local players, mainly youngsters. I am passionate about grass roots cricket which I consider to be a wonderful English tradition. To that end I serve on the Management Committee of the Cornwall Cricket League where I seek to represent the village clubs in the county who are in danger of being swallowed up by the larger ones who receive far greater financial support. The Torch passes through Bugle on 19th May and my dream is to be a torchbearer on that day.
