Ady's nomination story

Adrian has been a soldier for 22 years in 9/12 Royal Lancers. During the past ten years he has taken part in the Path Finder 46 mile boot march in aid of Dorchester hospital maternity unit. He has also completed the Great South Run twice in aid of Get Kids Going. However his biggest commitment yet is volunteering his time and knowledge to a Weymouth sea and marine cadet unit, organising their regular training programme and weekends away. He stepped in to offer this support when staff levels dropped and he was desperately needed. Not only does he volunteer the required two nights a week at the unit, he also puts many hours into planning and preparing fun activities for the cadets to do. He is also pushing BTEC and DofE awards for the cadets to participate in, gaining them further qualifications. Without his support and encouragement the Marine detachment may not have survived.
