Adrian was a personal trainer, but in 2008 after collapsing at home, he woke up in hospital a few days later not knowing what had happened. It turns out he had an unoperable brain tumour, which has made him wheelchair-dependant. Instead of doing nothing, since then he has become a Team GB wheelchair fencer and goes out into the community to give inspirational talks to disabled children. He is also an active member of Warrington Disabilty Partnership. At the moment, Adrian is recovering from reconstructive surgery on his shoulder but even that hasn`t stopped him from hosting talks at schools and colleges. In addition, he is taking his coaching certificates so that he can pass on his knowledge and spread wheelchair fencing further.
