Abigail was born autistic and later developed epilepsy. Abigail did not want to be bullied whilst going through the education system so she asked if she could learn a martial art.. She has dedicated herself to Kickboxing for the past 5 years and is now a blackbelt kickboxer. She is doing her 2nd dan next year. This is an extrordinary achievement because Abigail had very low muscle tone and worked so hard to learn the kicks and punches. She has improved 100% and is now kicking head high. The different accents and tones of voice of the various instructors give her a headache until she gets used to them but she carries on and trys her hardest to overcome these hurdles. Abigail kick boxes 5 nights a week and is dedicated to the sport. She competes with little hope of winning because her brain does not send the signal straight away and before she has worked out what she must do the opponent gets the point. But she tries very very hard and never gives up. Abigail only picks up 2 or 3 words out of each instruction and relys on her eyes to pick up what is happening. She watches the other students and copies what they are doing. She is extrordinary in her stamina and self determination to succeed in this sport that she has chosen. Abigail is under guardianship as she will never live an independent life.
