Women's 10km Marathon

Competition Format

The men’s and women’s 10km Marathon Swimming events are both straight finals, with all athletes competing in each race together.

In both the men’s and women’s events, 25 athletes swim six laps of the course marked out by buoys, passing through a timing gate after each lap that records lap times. At the finish, swimmers pass through a timing fgate and slap the overhead board to record their overall time.
