adidas are proud to unveil an exhibition of photography celebrating the athletes who are competing in Beijing this summer.

    adidas are proud to unveil an exhibition of photography celebrating Team GB and ParalympicsGB athletes who are competing in Beijing this summer. Each athlete is pictured in a setting that has inspired them in their chosen sport.

  2. Chris Hoy MBE: Cyclist, Track Sprint / Age 32

    Multiple World Champion and Olympic Games gold and silver medallist, Chris Hoy was photographed in the grounds of Edinburgh Castle, in the city where he was born and started cycling aged seven on a BMX.

  3. Christine Ohuruogu: Track & Field, 400m / Age 23

    Born in Stratford, Christine Ohuruogu grew up less than a mile from the main London 2012 site. Pictured at Stratford Underground station, Christine is the reigning 400m World and Commonwealth Champion.

  4. David Price: Boxer, Super-Heavyweight / Age 25

    Liverpool FC fan David wore his ‘red corner’ kit when shot outside the city’s St George’s Hall where he won Commonwealth gold in 2006. David boxes in the super-heavyweight category and is Team GB boxing captain.

  5. John McFall: Track & Field, Paralympic Sprint, Class T42 / Age 27

    Above-the-knee amputee, John McFall was photographed at the Gower Peninsula, South Wales, where he recovered after losing a leg in a motorcycle accident. John is now a World Cup gold and silver medallist.

  6. Victoria Pendleton: Cyclist, Track Sprint & Relay Sprint / Age 27

    Manchester is where Victoria Pendleton lives and trains and where she won the 2008 World Cycling Championships. Victoria is the current Keirin and Team Sprint World Champion and a Commonwealth Games medallist.

  7. Tom Daley: Aquatics, 10m Platform and Synchronised Dive / Age 14

    Aged seven, Tom started diving in Plymouth Hoe, where he is pictured. Just six years later, he won gold at the 2008 European Championships. Now aged 14, He will be the youngest member of Team GB since 1960.

  8. Heather Fell: Modern Pentathlon / Age 25

    A love of riding her horse on Dartmoor encouraged Heather to take up the modern pentathlon. She is now ranked fourth in the world and has won medals at the 2007 European Championships and the 2008 World Cup.

  9. Hollie Avil: Triathlon / Age 18

    Hollie is pictured at Campion School, Northampton, where she developed her love of sport. She has rapidly propelled herself to number six in the world in the triathlon, all whilst studying for her A-levels.

  10. Jo Jackson: Aquatics, Freestyle 400m and 4x200m Freestyle Relay / Age 19

    Jo was pictured on the River Swale, North Yorkshire, where she grew up. She was a bronze medallist at the 2008 World Short Course Championships and also broke the British record in the 200m freestyle event.

  11. Will Clarke: Triathlon / Age 23

    Will was pictured in Cambridge, where he grew up. He won both the World and European U23 Triathlon Championships in 2006 and was the highest placed Briton in the 2007 World Championships, finishing 5th.

  12. Mo Farah: Track & Field, 5000m / Age 25

    Mo settled in Hounslow after arriving in the UK as a refugee and is pictured in nearby Bushy Park, where he trains. Mo is the fastest British 5000m runner in 25 years and the current European silver medallist.

  13. Shelly Woods: Track & Field, Paralympic Track & Road Racing / Age 22

    Shelly grew up in Blackpool, where she is pictured, and where she first took up wheelchair racing after breaking her back aged eleven. She has broken British records for every event from 800m to the Marathon.

  14. Pete Reed: Rowing, Coxless Fours / Age 26

    Pete is pictured on the River Thames where he competed in the Boat Race for Oxford in 2004 and 2005. Pete is double World Champion in the flagship coxless four, incorporating an unbeaten run of 27 races.

  15. Marlon Devonish MBE: Track & Field, 200m Sprint and 4 x 100m Relay / Age 32

    Marlon Devonish, pictured in the ruins of Coventry Cathedral in his hometown, was part of the 4 x 100m Relay squad that won gold in Athens. It was the first time a British team had won the event for 92 years.

  16. Liz Yelling: Track & Field, Marathon / Age 33

    Liz lives in Poole and runs several times a week along the promenade on Branksome Beach. Liz is the Commonwealth Games bronze medal holder and was the highest placed Briton in the Marathon in Athens.

  17. Shanaze Reade: Cycling, BMX Racing and Track Sprint Relay / Age 19

    Shanaze is pictured in the backstreets of Crewe where she grew up. She was crowned world BMX Champion at her first attempt last year and also took gold in the Team Sprint on the track with Victoria Pendleton.

  18. Aaron Cooke: Taekwondo / Age 17

    Aaron was pictured in Alderly Edge Woods, Macclesfield where he grew up and mountain biked as a child. Aaron is the first male British athlete to win a WTF World Junior Championship Taekwondo title.

  19. Phillips Idowu: Track & Field, Triple Jump / Age 29

    Phillips is the current World Indoor and European Indoor Champion and Commonwealth Games Champion. As a child, he was a keen basketball player and is photographed on the court he used to play on in Hackney.

  20. Goldie Sayers: Track & Field, Javelin / Age 26

    Goldie was pictured in her home town of Newmarket. Since breaking the British junior javelin record in 2001, Goldie became the youngest female to compete in an individual event at the Athens Olympic Games.

  21. Stephen Thomas: Paralympic Sailing, Three Person Sonar Class / Age 31

    Stephen was pictured at Ogmore Castle, Bridgend where he goes to relax. After losing his legs below the knee he took up sonar class sailing. He has since won gold at the 2005 and 2006 World Championships.
