In many cases, walking to a London 2012 venue is much quicker and easier than you may think. As well as being a healthy, sustainable way to travel, it gives you the chance to see many sights on the way and soak up the atmosphere of being in a Host City.
Or if you’re not keen on walking the whole way to your venue, why not consider getting off the bus or train a stop or two early to avoid busy stations and see what London has to offer?
The London 2012 Active Travel programme aims to encourage more walking and cycling in the run-up to, during and after the Games, and includes a whole host of events and activities. Find out more about the programme

The walks will lead you along approved walking routes without worry of getting lost or arriving late. The guided walks are free of charge but you’ll need to book in advance as places are limited.
