The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has today published a document which shows the extent of the business benefits created by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The ‘building for 2012’ map shows a snap-shot of around 1,500 companies spread across the UK that are providing goods and services to the ODA for the construction of the venues and infrastructure needed for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The map showing the spread of contracts can be viewed and downloaded from the London 2012 website:
http://www.london2012.com/news/publications/pdf/building-for-2012.pdfODA Chairman John Armitt said: 'Thousands of companies across the UK are winning contracts and helping to build the venues and infrastructure needed for the London 2012 Games.
'This map is a snapshot of how businesses are benefitting from the investment in the Games project. Its shows around 1,500 UK companies from Inverness to Taunton have already won contracts - a mere fraction of what will be the total number.'
Tessa Jowell, Olympics Minister,

the thousands of the Games-related contracts won by firms in the
UK and paints a picture of
the impact of London 2012 on the UK economy. From Inverness to
Taunton and Belfast to Bridgend, London 2012 is helping to keep order
books busy, proving that these really are the UK’s Games'
