Submit a planning application
The ODA will accept planning applications either electronically (which is the preferred method), by mail or in person.
The Planning Portal The ODA uses the Planning Portal, which is the Government's planning resource.
Visit the Planning PortalYou can use the Planning Portal to:
- learn about the planning system;
- get help on how to submit an application, the information needed and the planning fee that must accompany an application;
- prepare and submit a planning application;
- produce a site location plan to accompany your application;
- find out about development near you appeal against a planning decision; and
- research the latest government policy.
Once you have prepared your planning application on the Planning Portal website, you may submit it to the ODA Planning Decisions Team electronically via the Planning Portal or print it and send it to us by post. To make an application you will need to register with the Planning Portal.
The following types of application should be submitted to the relevant local authority in the normal way:
- Application for Certificates of Appropriate Alternative Development.
- Application for Certificate of Lawfulness of Proposed Use or Development.
- Application for Certificate of Lawfulness of Existing Use or Development.
- Application for Prior Approval.
Accepted methods of payment:
Your planning application must be accompanied by a fee that is set by the Government (details of the fee are set out on the Planning Portal). You can pay by cheque (made payable to the "Olympic Delivery Authority Planning Authority")
