Men and women compete together in a single competition.

The competition begins with a round-robin stage – the eight teams are divided into two groups of four, with teams in each group playing each other once.

The top two teams in each group qualify for the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-final matches compete in the gold medal game and the remaining two teams compete in the bronze medal game.
