Terri's nomination story

"When I saw my daughter-in-law's face crumble at the news of her 3 year old son being diagnosed on the Autistic Spectrum, I knew we were in for a long journey. Some 13 years later with 3 grandsons on the Spectrum, we have a beautiful school in the countryside and we are up to 130 children a week benefiting from our unique education of children with Autism. Our clubs are for affected children and groups for siblings and parents and carers who look after these amazing kids. My patrons and volunteers are gems, in the way they support me and I could not have done it without them. We have raised so much money and awareness of family life with Autism. I`m now in training, running round the school site being cheered on by the staff and pupils carrying a large carton of juice to simulate the Paralympic Torch."
