"Stephen was born with a hereditary condition called 'optic-atrophy' and is registered as partially sighted. He is a Co-chair for the 'Disability and Carers Network' at EDF Energy which provides information and support to disabled employees and carers whilst giving the company a better understanding of the problems they face and how to assist them. He works tirelessly for this Network on top of his job in Public Affairs and is an inspiration to his work colleagues and those that know him. He has helped promote this Network which has over a 100 members and is still growing. Stephen doesn't see his condition as a barrier, he travels, is studying for a Diploma in PR and is passionate about promoting the rights of disabled people and their carers. He is also part of a medical research programme with his family that hopes to identify a cure for 'optic-artrophy'."
