"Sheila Finnie is Gaddesden Place Riding for the Disabled (RDA) Centre's Group Organiser, an Instructor and Coach, and Volunteer Coordinator. All of the work which she undertakes is on a voluntary and unpaid basis. Sheila is the first contact for all disabled riders and their carers, and also all of the volunteer helpers. She is responsible for pony welfare and supervises the stable staff. Sheila is a calm and caring inspirational influence for all of the disabled pony riders. Sheila cant keep away from Gaddesden Place RDA Centre as she is there most days, teaching/coaching on Tuesdays and Thursdays and also helping out on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Sheila has been voted Herts Sports Partnership Volunteer of the year 2011 and is the epitome of an unsung hero, a true inspiration to all around her. The opportunity to bear the Paralympic Torch would be a most fitting reward!"
