"The New Bridge Foundation: Our team is 5 dedicated volunteers who regularly give their time to befriend and mentor offenders. Their task is not an easy one but they continue to make a difference to the lives of offenders who would otherwise have no contact with the outside world. We think their amazing levels of dedication, compassion, understanding and flexibility is something that should be rewarded and we can think of no better way to do this than by nominating them to be a torch bearing team. They write letters to and visit prisoners providing a link to the outside world and the chance to build trust in another human being.
