Richard's nomination story

"One the 1st December 2006 we lost our beautiful daughter, Abbie Jane Clarke to SUDEP (Sudden unexpected death in epilepsy). Abbie was 10 years old and our only child. She was my best friend and my world. In May 2007 me, my wife and family decided to set up a registered charity in memory of Abbie. We named the charity Abbie's Love. We started the charity off with a sponsored walk at 2 of Abbie's favourite places to raise money for SUDEP and awareness into SUDEP. To date we have raised £185 thousand pounds. The money has been spent on equipment and research and 56 bed alarms for children in our area who suffer from epilepsy. It would be a massive honour to run with the torch in Abbie's memory. For me personally it would raise awareness in our country for children with epilepsy and awareness of SUDEP. "
