Raymond's nomination story

"Chance to Shine Street Chance: Ray and Denise work with disabled, desperately and terminally ill children at Great Ormand Street and Evelina hospital, inspiring them to get involved in physical activity they never thought they would be a part of. Ray and Denise work with children in wheelchairs inspiring them to take part in sport with their peers, Ray and Denise tailor their programmes to allow disabled children to play the same games as their able bodied peers and identify where children need extra encouragement and engagement. They encourage children to feel confident and work with bedbound children giving them the courage to leave their rooms when they have recovered and socialise with other children on the programme. Ray and Denise encourage children on the same wards to work together during sessions and have achieved remarkable results encouraging children with terminal illnesses to socialise with their peers.
