Paul's nomination story

"While living and working in a remote area of East Africa with the Maasai tribe, I watched helplessly as severe drought killed cattle and then the old the sick and the very young of the village. I felt compelled to act and launched `mainsail marathon` where 6 masala warriors from the village travelled to London to participate in the London Marathon. They then raised enough money to have two 50,000 litre reservoirs of clean water. Since 2009 I have worked without pay and minimal funding to establish `operation warriors return` where disabled ex servicemen are given support and access to a variety of services free of charge also acting as mentors and role models they inspire and educate young men at risk of exclusion. Their aim is to encourage qualities commonly found in the armed forces, fitness, teamwork, discipline and respect"
