"Marie typifies the Olympic spirit: encouraging, dedicated and determined. Throughout her lifetime Marie has contributed to her community - spending all her spare time running sessions where children were given the opportunity to succeed; tutoring others so that they can become coaches; and developing volunteers giving them skills which gave them further opportunities in their work lives. Over the last 10 years Marie has shown true dedication to her vision of a space where disabled children and their families would be able to enjoy sport, play, relax, be healthy, safe and feel part of a community. Despite serious illnesses and injuries to both herself and those closest to her she made the vision a reality when she opened Jump Space in 2010. As a friend she has always been there. Her friendship is strong and loyal and knows no boundaries and she has helped many people through the toughest times."
