Louise's nomination story

"Louise was 8 years old when she was diagnosed with Hashimoto`s disease, as an autoimmune disease it affected her thyroid and she developed childhood arthritis which she continues to battle both physically and mentally. Despite often suffering pain she has always been a very keen and dedicated swimmer, refusing to give into her discomfort she is still racing at regional standard. Louise is now 20 and while she still trains and competes in the senior squad she now coaches the younger club members and is now coaching some disability swimmers and has been invited to be part of the East Region disability coaching team, she is a true inspiration to them. This year she recieved the Coach of the year award for Norwich on recongnition of the work she has done with a disability swimmer she has been coaching who acheived National and British qualifying times in less than a year."
