"My name is Lauren Appleby. I`m 16 years old. I live in Ramsgate Kent with my Mum, Dad, brother and sister. I go to St Anthony`s School in Margate which is a special school as I have autism. I really like school, I`m head girl which is a big responsibility. I like doing school productions, competing for my school in sports competitions, being with my friends, helping and supporting the younger children and learning new things. When I`m not at school, I go to my local youth club to make and be with my friends and help organise events. I do lots of things with the Children`s Society Intergenerational Project, where the young and the elderly come together to work on different projects. I belong to Thanet Athletics Club, I compete for them at competitions and my favourite event is long jump. My hero is Jessica Ennis, she inspires me."
