Laura's nomination story

"Laura is a visually impaired dressage rider through the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA). RDA delivers opportunities for therapy, achievement and enjoyment to people with disabilities and now has over 500 Member Groups across the UK - together, these Groups help 30,000 people take part in riding, carriage driving and vaulting activities. Through her own achievements and personal experiences both on and off the horse, Laura has supported her own group by offering support to fellow riders, from rider confidence to assistance with competition preparation. As well as stable management duties. Laura also rides as part of RDA training days, which allows judges and volunteers to gain more knowledge of riders with visual impairments and ask direct questions. More recently Laura has been providing guidance surrounding visual impairment to RDA HQ with current projects such as improving their website and Braille handouts as well as joining a participants group."
