Jp's nomination story

"Jean-Pierre has been involved in disabled archery for the past 8 years. Having a disability is often a struggle, but sport allows him to overcome this battle. He is committed to this sports on a daily basis. Archery is among the few sports where there is little difference between able-bodied and disabled competitors: rules, equipment and techniques are identical. First, Jean-Pierre thought that it was an easy sport because if the coach`s rules were strictly applied, anyone could reach the top score of ten. But in order to acheive the correct technique 60 times and progress to the French National Championships, Jean-Pierre battled with blood, sweat and determination. He doesn`t know if he will suceed one day in participating in the Paralympic Games. Nevertheless, these Games are important for him because all differences are forgotten about once the magic of the Games begins. On the podium, Jean-Pierre is neither an able-bodied or disabled man but a man who has gained the repect of those around him by sharing his happiness and pride."
