"I teach at Highfields School, Matlock. I set up the Highfields school leadership academy some 11 years ago. There is a pathway of leadership throughout the school years 7-13. There are over 400 members in this academic year. In 2010 the academy was awarded the queens award for voluntary service. Our academy has had hundreds of students in the last 10 years giving thousands of hours in a voluntary capacity to both the school and local community. I am very passionate about giving all ages and abilities the chance to develop skills, confidence and self esteem through our sports leadership programmes. It has been a privilege to see so many go onto careers in community coaching and sports development. The academy has been awarded a special award by sports leaders UK for our delivery."
