Jim's nomination story

"I was injured in 2001, I was a Royal Marine, following a lengthy rehabilitation period my right ankle would not heal, and I opted to have it amputated so I could retain my active life, I ended up remaining a serving Royal Marine officer having regained my fitness, as an amputee for 8 years, serving on land and at sea. I was involved in leading rehabilitaion programmes in the RM and inspiring injured service men and women to return to active lives. When I was eventually medically discharged in August 2010 I set up ADVENTURE REHAB, an organisation that delivers inspirational rehabilitation programmes for civilian amputees that uses adventure, wilderness journeys and innovative coaching as a route to getting peoples lives back on track."
